Linda McArthur

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Linda Marie McArthur, 49, of South Sioux City died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Matney's Colonial Manor Nursing Home in South Sioux City following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Larkin Northside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary B. Snyder of St. Michael Catholic Church officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Linda was born Feb. 16, 1962, in Sioux City, the daughter of William A. and Marian A. (Bennett) McArthur. She was raised in Sioux City and graduated from North High School. She attended Briar Cliff University and Western Iowa Tech Community College. She lived in the Siouxland area most of her life. She was employed as a security guard by D.S.I., and Tyson Foods. She had also been employed with Allied Solutions, Rosie's Pizza, Super Value Market and Bobier Portrait Studio.

She enjoyed sketching, artwork and knitting. She also liked to throw darts and belonged to a league. She also enjoyed going browsing for antiques.

Linda is survived by her significant other, Michael N. Davidson of South Sioux City; her mother, Marian A. McArthur of Sioux City; two sons, Jacob A. Walding of Sioux City and Benjamin A. Walding of Des Moines; a daughter, Constance M. Walding of Sioux City; a grandson, Kyle Robert Walding of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Kaiya Harrison of Sioux City; two brothers and a sister, Gary McArthur and his wife, Joanne of Sioux City, Susan Haneklaus and her husband, Ray of Hawarden, Iowa, and Mark McArthur and his wife, Susan of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, William A. McArthur
